STATEMENT
OF PURPOSE
The goals of the Cambridge Republican City Committee (CRCC) are
to promote the principles of the Republican Party, to cooperate
in carrying out the program of the Republican State and Republican
National Committees, and to promote and effectuate the election
of Republican candidates. In particular, the CRCCs objectives
are to recruit and assist Republican candidates; to communicate
our positions and activities by maintaining a website and a newsletter
and by hosting speakers; to recruit new members and activists,
raise funds, and promote Republican voter registration; and to
hold elected officials accountable and keep tabs on local issues.
EDITORIAL
POLICY
The
CRCC is a party of ideas with a big-tent attitude that welcomes
debate. It embraces Ronald Reagans idea of America, and
by extension Cambridge, as a shining city upon a hill,
which is to say the CRCC welcomes anyone with the will and the
heart to participate in the debate.
On
its website and in its e-newsletter the CRCC encourages discussion
of topics bounded by the three legs of the political stool - economic,
social and foreign policy. Its primary focus will be on fiscal
and economic policies. It supports economic growth spurred by
incentives incorporated in the supply-side model of low tax rates,
limited government, market-driven solutions for better schooling,
more efficient health care, free trade, a sound dollar, and help
for those who suffer misfortune or injustice.
The
website and the e-newsletter will include links to political commentary
to encourage informed debate, not to give that opinion an official
sanction. The political convictions of Cambridge Republicans cover
a wide range and no opinion piece can pretend to represent the
views of all--or any--of our members.
Please
join the debate. Send your ideas, comments, and questions to cambgop@cambgop.com.
Thank you very much.
